Partner Anthony Fata speaks at Practising Law Institute’s Internal Investigations Program on October 12, 2022
Partner Anthony Fata spoke at the Practising Law Institute (PLI) Internal Investigations Program on Wednesday, October 12, 2022. The program brought together experts to discuss the basics of conducting an effective investigation from start to finish. Using a real-world hypothetical scenario and animated video, attendees left the program with insight into how best to handle investigations for their company or clients.
Mr. Fata joined moderator Carrie J. Di Santo and speakers Paul M.G. Helms, Marcie Lape, and Junaid A. Zubairi on a panel entitled “Concluding the Internal Investigation” at 1:30 PM CDT. Mr. Fata and his co-panelists examined best practices for reaching findings, memorializing conclusions, determining whether to prepare a written report, selecting corrective actions/appropriate remediation, and more.
Mr. Fata joined Kirby McInerney in 2022, and for more than 20 years, he has specialized in complex financial matters, including antitrust, commodities, and whistleblower claims. Additionally, since 2016, he has been an adjunct professor at Seton Hall University School of Law, where he teaches J.D., M.S.J., and LL.M candidates in various financial services courses. These include Securities Regulation, Regulating Broker Dealers, Regulating Funds and Advisors, Corporate Finance, Financial Crimes Compliance, and more. Mr. Fata is also on the Chicago Bar Association Board of Managers, Co-Chairs the Securities Law Committee, and is a CBA Record Editorial Board member.
