CFTC Whistleblowers: Legal Perils and Pitfalls

Co-Managing Partner David Kovel and Associate Lauren Wands have published an article entitled “CFTC Whistleblowers: Legal Perils and Pitfalls” in the May 2024 issue of the Futures and Derivatives Law Report, a newsletter which analyzes legal developments in over-the-counter derivatives, futures, and option trading, and includes information on regulation, legislation, and litigation.
In the article, Mr. Kovel and Ms. Wands provide a brief overview of the CFTC’s Whistleblower Program and its attendant Whistleblower Rules, including the significant financial incentives they offer, and then delve into some legal pitfalls and issues that can be faced by whistleblowers in connection with information provided to the Commission.
