KM obtains $35 million settlement of Apple gift cards consumer class action
Kirby McInerney LLP, alongside Co-Lead Counsel Scott+Scott LLP and Cafferty Clobes Meriwether & Sprengel LLP, reached a $35 million settlement with Apple Inc. The settlement provides refunds to consumers who were tricked by third-party scammers into buying Apple iTunes and AppStore gift cards and providing the codes to the scammers under false pretenses.
The case was filed in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California by KM Partner Anthony Fata. Mr. Fata developed the factual theories for this case and is co-leading with KM Associates Sarah Flohr and Marko Radisavljevic.
Consumers who were victims of this scam involving Apple iTunes and AppStore gift cards between January 2015 and July 2020 can now file a claim by October 15, 2024. Please consult the settlement website for more information about the settlement and to see if you are eligible for a cash benefit.
